.......
How can you help? There are many ways, so choose one, a few, or all depending on your generosity and ability
to make a difference. Kahuna Valley is a non-profit, 501(c)3 tax-exempt educational organization with a focus
on empowering and inspiring children from all walks of life to build self esteem and learn about peace from the
inside out. Your support can and will make a difference in creating positive, pro-active youth who will be the
stars and guiding lights of tomorrow. Our gala event is just one aspect of our work... The Kaua'i Peace Project
is a set of initiatives that run all year long and include after school offerings, mentoring programs, and research
studies.

Here's how you can help:
1. Financial Support - as with all things, it takes a certain amount of money to make things happen in any initiative.
Your contribution is a tax-deductible donation that will help to rent the hotel space for the event, put up lights,
pay for airfare and accommodations for well-known singers and musicians to play at this high-powered weekend,
all of whom are donating their talents to this project... and after the event, our various educational initiatives
continue to run and need your funding to survive. Click here to help.
2. Creative Workshop Leaders - if you are energetic, engaging and able to stand in a crowded room of young people
and still be heard, we need you! Heart Expo Kaua'i will have breakout workshops for children and adults throughout
the weekend event. The Peace of HeArt Tile Painting program - in conjunction with the Garden Island Arts Council,
Self-Esteem Building through Music and Voice programs, Writing with Freedom workshops - these are all ways for
our youth to be heard, and to give voice to their self-expression during a very vulnerable time in their lives.
Share your teaching talent and your love of children. Work to empower our youth in positive ways and you will
create a memory that may sustain them through times of difficulty.
3. Local Business Support - contribute necessary services, such as printing for folders, flyers, posters, tickets
and the Heart Expo Program Guide that will go out to thousands of people. Logo presence will be available for
this consideration. We can also use your help through running an advertisement in the event's Program Guide and
in our co-op ads. Another way is to contribute a prize to a worthy young person who wins our writing and art
contest. Click here for details and parameters.
4. Leis & Flower Arrangements - on opening night, we need a show of aloha - young winners and VIP's should
be honored for their efforts Hawaiian-style. If your flower shop or farm is bursting with fragrant blooms, why
not share this beauty with attendees of Heart Expo? You'll come out smelling like roses...or even better, plumeria
blossoms!
5. Contribute your time and effort - we need volunteers to help with staging, selling tickets, approaching businesses
and local media for their support
6. Coupons - if you can't contribute your time, how about offering a discount coupon to participants of the
Kaua'i Peace Project to be included with our Event Program?
7. SHOW UP! - if you can't get involved in these ways, then do the next best thing - SHOW UP AT THE EVENT! By
being present, you show youth from Hawai'i that you care and support their efforts to walk the path of peace
and healing. Come and be a part of what makes community work
when it works together! Besides, it's going
to be fun and who doesn't want more of that in their lives?!
Enough suggestions for now. We're sure you will come up with your own, so don't be shy to make an offer we can't
refuse. Just know that we are making a difference together. We have commitments from newspapers and media already
in place for this unique inner peace event...all we need now is YOUR participation! Perhaps Kaua'i will become
known on the world stage as "The Island of Peace", and not just "The Garden Isle" after the
Kaua'i Peace Project...and it will be because of your help. Thank you for being a part of this exciting event
and making a lasting difference to our youth.
